The Peak of Presidency

Trump takes the image of a strong leader.

Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. became the moment America accepted, and viewed, Donald Trump as the President of the United States. As he took the podium, the members of Congress, as well as those who viewed the event from above the floor, found themselves unexpectedly entranced in the empowering speech.

“This will be an opportunity for the people and their representatives to hear directly from our new president about his vision in our shared agenda,” Speaker Paul Ryan said. An address to Congress does not implicate details. It is simply the President summarizing what has been achieved, what is being currently done, and what is planned for the future.

Trump reached out to all races, proving he has no bias, and is in office to serve Americans as a whole. His first remark was his disapproval of the treatment towards Jewish cemeteries and the vandalism that was so disrespectfully plagued upon them. He called out for unity between races, religions, and the government parties. “I’m here to deliver a message of unity and strength, which is a message deeply delivered from my heart,” Trump said.

His proposals consisted of the following:

1) The Immigration Bill

2) Repealing and replacing Obamacare

3) Rebuilding infrastructure

4) Reducing crime

5) The wall

6) Military funding

He opened the eyes to Americans telling them that we must put our country first. “The renewal of American spirit comes from the renewal of strength,” President Trump said. The economy is the base of strength. “We must drain the swamp of government corruption,” Trump said. His plan on how to do that? For every new regulation, two will be cut. Excess funding will end and dramatically help the economy.

The treatment from the Democrats impacted the address, but only the opinion of their party. They had child-like mentalities, showing immaturity by booing the president and refusing to stand, not only for his empowering lines, but when he introduced guests, like the African American family who lost their loved one to an illegal immigrant, or the deceased Navy Seal’s wife.

Through the immature behavior, Trump remained composed and woke the long-needed American spirit.

Many Congressmen and representatives of the media claimed it had been the best speech he’s had, as well as his peak moment in his early presidency. America has accepted our president, and we await what his future plans will bring to us.
