Legend Students Accepted Into All State Choir

by Alanna Strong

All State Choir is an audition-only choir that consists of choir students over the state of Colorado. Over thousands of choir students audition for All State Choir every year, but only 60 students are selected to be in each choir.

Various Legend students have auditioned for this prestigious choir opportunity in the years since Legend has opened. However, none have succeed. The closest was graduate Molly Groom, who was one tenth of a point away from being accepted.

This year, three Legend students got accepted to participate in All State Choir: Junior Hannah Clark, Junior Sarah Hansen, and Senior Jamie Bredahl.

Part of being accepted into All State Choir includes rehearsing difficult choral pieces and performing them at the Wells Fargo Theatre in Denver. The performances in 2013 are on February 7th, 8th, and 9th.

Another opportunity students in choir at Legend auditioned for was the Continental League Choir. Every school that is part of the Continental League selects 16 students to participate in this choir: 4 for each singing part.

This years’ selected students are as follows:
Sara King
Tenae Nugent
Lexee Smith
Tori Velasquez
Mary Mac Carlin
Hallie Denman
Samantha Pease
Shelby Varra
Jamie Ducey
Nathan Erickson
Josh Timmons
Jesse Van Divier
Jared Beckstead
Kaden Beckstead
Devon Foster
Austin Nicholson

These students will be performing in Denver alongside other selected students on January 14th.
